The Expert for Lake Iseo

Paratico

Paratico, located in the Franciacorta region at Lake Iseo, offers beautiful landscapes, historical buildings and modern attractions combined with the scents and flavors of a charming wine area!

The city is the starting point of the Franciacorta “Wine Route”. Also from Paratico’s vineyards the famous product “Franciacorta sparkling wine” is produced, whose bubbles are known all over the world! Agritourism, wineries and farms characterize the countryside of Paratico, where you can find a lot of very delicious local products, like honey, jam, wine and cheese. Additionally you can enjoy traditional food and flavors of the lake area in one of the many restaurants in the area.

The lakefront areas of Lake Iseo offer green areas and the chance to experience adrenaline-pumping activities such as water skiing and wakeboarding, but also outdoor activities like hiking or walking. You can also choose different cycling routes, starting from Paratico through the Oglio Park or through the Franciacorta wineyards to Brescia.

Overlooking the southeast shore of Lake Iseo, Paratico is spread over several hills, offering a wonderful view over Lake Iseo. Like all the villages at Lake Iseo, Paratico is an excellent location and convenient starting point for water sports, outdoor sports, excursions and discovery tours of the area of Brescia and Bergamo. At the same time it is also a perfect place for relaxing in nature, enjoying culture and wine, not to forget the excellent gastronomy.

Visit the medieval castle and the ancient Tower Lantieri. The tower was recently restored and is now open to the public for tours and events. On the ground floor there is the “Quadrisfera”, an innovative multi-media installation, of which there are only three other examples in Italy (one is at the CNR), designed specifically to engage the visitor in a total experience of sights, sounds and emotions! The tower is open every Sunday from 10 to 12 and from 15 to 18 o`clock. For information and reservations you can call the Cultural Office of the Municipality of Paratico +39 035 914082.

A very nice area to relax is the City Park with a large children’s play area, where you can enjoy a wonderful view over Lake Iseo. During the summer season, events and musical theatre are performed in the park and there is also an interesting permanent exhibition of stone sculptures.

There is a lake walk on the new section of the lakefront called Parco delle CHIATTE, where you can discover species of flowers and plants, and where you can admire a spectacular fountain. As well you can discover an important historic vestige from the early time of industrialization, when wagons were loaded in Lovere with goods from various countries and shipped to Paratico and were then transferred to the railway line Paratico – Palazzolo. On these rail tracks, long abandoned, there is a steam train running now, called “Treno Blu“, which allows you to experience the excitement of ancient times. Nature and colourful landscapes characterize the path of the train through the Parco dell’Oglio Nord, which starts from Paratico and ends in Palazzolo.
